Clean and Care:
- hand washing is the most recommended method, even if the label on the garment allows washing it using the machine;
- the hand washing is done in a clean recipient where lukewarm water is added together with a soft detergent, or better yet baby shampoo;
- if there are stains, 2 table spoons of soft vinegar, or lemon juice, or even ammonia, are mixed with 2 cups of lukewarm water. Either the stained area is introduced into the mix, or it’s sprayed onto the stains, and in some situations they can be cleaned using a soft sponge together with the mix.
- during the hand wash the garment must by immersed totally in the mix of lukewarm water with soft detergent or shampoo, and it’s simply spin so that all the fibers of the clothing article will get a complete wash. Also, through delicate moves, the silk garment can be rubbed against itself in case of some minor stains. All this shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes;
- the rinsing is done in a clean recipient in which lukewarm water is added, and it’s simply repeatedly immersed till there isn’t any soapy water on it. This should be done for a couple of minutes. It’s recommend that after rinsing the garment to be rolled into a clean towel to get rid of the water excess;
- drying should be done far away from the direct sun light, the garment is put on a clothing hanger, preferably a plastic one. Thus, the garment won’t get wrinkled so ironing will not be necessary. Do not dry in the tumble dryer;
- although not recommend, ironing might be sometimes necessary. A cloth or towel is placed between the garment and the iron, which will be set on a low temperature, or if it has the options to select the fabric that is ironed, the silk mode will be set. It’s highly preferred to iron the garment turned inside out;
- bleaching and cleaning using the washing machine are not desirable because they can damage the fabric or the color;
- natural silk garments should be stored on hangers, in a cool and aired environment, away from the sun light, and under no circumstance should they be covered with plastic bags because silk needs to breathe;
